This amazing 160' ft mural in the lovely town of St. Thomas, Ontario for the St. Thomas Railway Museum & Tourism St. Thomas is now COMPLETE!

The Poppies mural is finished! “The Devil is in the Detail”, as the saying goes! Thank you to the great team who helped me: Jessica, Asha, Emily, Darby, Young and Free Press, Legends Tavern and more.
St. Thomas has a special connection to WW1 with its Vimy Oaks, descendants of acorns gathered up by a Canadian soldier after the history-making First World War battle of Vimy Ridge. There is also a war memorial garden in Pinafore Park.
Artist Statement
“The mural is a dedication to all Veterans and First Responders depicted in a field of growing poppies. This image also represents a community that rises up to meet all ongoing challenges with an unconquerable spirit of courage. It is a celebration of both our heroes and life itself.” – Andrew Lewis

The 165’ x 14’ mural depicts a field of Poppies and is dedicated to all Canadian Veterans and First Responders and was painted over 8 weeks by Lewis and his team of 4 assistants. With approximately 2500 square feet to cover, Lewis decided on the Poppy theme being inspired the Veterans Memorial adjacent to the mural wall location.
