Spring Has Sprung: 2 New Paintings in the Yellow House Series
Another painting adventure is over, with 2 new works, both a part of the yellow house series, based on where I live and work.
This new work entitled "Winnie", a 36"x36", acrylic on canvas. The house itself, has become an extension of my design and art practice, with colours and artifacts littered throughout from my crazy travels. Dachshunds have been a part of my life for many years and Winnie is #3 (shhhhhh, the best one ever) and plays the role as muse I suppose. It is a simple painting really, just an honest narrative or literally, a corner of my life and design.
Update: April 9/2020: Winnie has sold, Yellow Tulips is available, if you are interested in acquiring the piece simply contact me directly for a chat.
“Yellow Tulips”, 24”x24”, acrylic on canvas. Several people have made this comment “this is a happy painting for these times”, and I suppose it may be. But for me, it is about abstraction of colour and perception of what is real and what in fact our brains are actually digesting with constructed composition. I enjoy the science of colour as well and am extremely selective of pairing colour relationships within the overall composition. The new works are alive, which I suppose is indeed a positive attribute in the current times.
